Our First Shoot!
Updated: Apr 9, 2018
This was an exciting day for us and our amazing team!
We have wanted to do a wearable floral shoot for a long time and finally found the time to collaborate with some incredible suppliers within the region to bring it to life.
This was one of two shoots. We wanted this to feel very feminine, pretty, with soft colours, mixed textures and gorgeous florals. We worked together with a group of very talented women who collectively completed the vision.
Luisa our hairdresser chose the gorgeous hairstyle to be a modern take on a vintage upstyle. The make-up look was created by Jo to be natural, pretty and absolutely flawless.
The bodice from ASOS was chosen as it was a little more modern and we loved the bare skin that separated the lace edge from the stunning floral skirt. We felt a full bodice would clash once the textures met.
The base structure of the skirt was designed a week in advance to suit Taylas measurements. It is a construction of a wire waist band and chicken wire mesh for the floral. The morning of the shoot the skirt was based with foliage and accented with the floral that would last the day without a water source. Other blooms and fillers were saved to be added on site just prior to the start of the shoot.
The gorgeous location was chosen by our talented photographer Summer. A local to the region lent us their home (yes someone is lucky enough to live in this gorgeous house!) and we were welcomed in to use any room that suited. The bathroom lent itself perfectly to some of our favourite images. The home was full of french doors, a stunning claw bath and intricate details.
Although the styling was minimal it's these little touches that compliment the whole theme. Felicity and her team (wonderful men for the heavy lifting) supplied just the right amount of decor and styling to bring the vision to life.
Wanita our videographer effortlessly captured the details of the day. She was always just filming here and there and put together this gorgeous sneak peek video that is the perfect combination of all of the elements of the day and little hints of what's to come.
And of course our stunning model Tayla! Who just so happened to be a ballerina - how fitting. Tayla was so effortlessly beautiful. The floral skirt would have to have been one of the most uncomfortable pieces to wear and she didn't flinch at all. She had fun with the shoot and really brought her personality to the day!
With lots of planning and hard work our first shoot was an absolute success. Here is a sneak peak of whats to come! Tayla the Ballerina.
